Marketing Assistant

AIMS

In Tuition is looking for a marketing assistant to enhance all existing products from a marketing and sales perspective. There will be involvement in all areas of the marketing mix to increase the awareness and success of the company. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
Key tasks include:

  • Effectively market existing products and process all orders
  • Convert marketing information into commercial successes
  • Effectively communicate with external partners, suppliers and media
  • Improve internal communications to all departments

REPORTING
This position reports to the Marketing Manager and is a full time role in the marketing department.

QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1 year's marketing experience preferred but not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of conducting research
  • Experience of dealing with Suppliers & Customers
  • Demonstrate initiative and proactivity
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
  • Typing and I.T. literate
  • A high level of personal presentation at all times
  • Attitude - show a positive, constructive and flexible attitude to work.
  • Staff handbook - observe the regulations lay down in the staff handbook.

MAIN AREAS OF THE JOB

  • Maintain Public Course Schedule: Keep information up to date on database and schedule.
  • Online Marketing: Website optimisation, update new courses, dates and outlines on a regular basis. Develop banner ads, online advertising and placement in trade directories.
  • Product Sales: Process all Direct Sales force orders, online bookings and provide reports
  • Course Booking Confirmations: Despatch daily to Customers
  • Course Syllabi: Improve & maintain sufficient copies of the latest open course syllabi and ensure they are in keeping with company policy.
  • Post Course Questionnaires - Report feedback, file all post course questionnaires.
  • Direct Marketing: Projects aimed at business-to-business and private individuals to generate sales leads and product awareness.
  • Client Marketing: Within major accounts support strategies to improve & increase business awareness, including web site & intranet development, teaser campaigns and direct mail.
  • Sales Collateral: Assist in the design, production and fulfilment of company literature.
  • Promotional Merchandise: Production of all promotional merchandise used by sales team. Purchasing Course manuals, Q.R.G. and any other Marketing purchase requirement in a timely manner. Organise and ensure stock levels remain between minimum and maximum levels. Organise & Keep appropriate records of stock and prices - ensuring agreed prices are not exceeded.
  • Agency Liaison: Dealing with general enquiries and tasks
  • Vendor Marketing: assist in the development of vendor relationships and execute plans to market new vendor products
    Accreditation: Investigate and propose highly suited accreditation with Vendors, Software, Hardware and 'Testing' organisations.
  • IT Systems: Assist in devising & Implementing systems for marketing and sales
  • Data Mining: Maintain Client & prospect database, conduct & analyse reports to aid targeted campaigns. Running searches, compiling and cleaning lists before mailing. Checking journal entries and telesales activity during and after campaigns.
  • Research: competitor research, product research, and market intelligence research. Seek out competitive ways to raise the profile of the company in the external marketplace
  • New Products: Assist in launching new products to the market & Sales briefings
  • Advertising: Placing advertisements in the relevant trade/sector press as well as mass-market publications where relevant.
