COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is suitable for users who need to gain an understanding of the features and benefits of the Internet. During the hands-on guided tour delegates will become familiar with using Internet Explorer to search for and down load information, connect to newsgroups and send and receive electronic mail.

Target Audience

New or inexperienced Internet users. No prior knowledge of Internet Explorer is assumed.

At Course Completion

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
~      Recognise and understand Internet jargon
~      Describe the role of an Internet Service Provider and the typical range of services they provide
~      Use Internet Explorer to access the Internet
~      Describe the World Wide Web in relation to the Internet
~      Search for relevant information on the World Wide Web
~      Connect to newsgroups
~      Transfer/download files from the Internet

Prerequisites

Participants should understand the basic concepts involved in working with a Personal Computer (PC) and have e (PC) and are expected to be familiar with Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT4.0 Primer, or equivalent knowledge.
